Outdoor Housing Range Caters to Screens over 2500 NITS, Helping Keep Displays Running in any Season.
With the ever-increasing use and development of high brightness screens for outdoor environments, UNICOL Engineering, a leader in audio-visual mounting solutions, has upgraded its Outdoor Housing (ODH) range to meet both current and future demands.
"This upgrade means our customers can be assured that the screens they’ve invested in are always appropriately catered for."
“High brightness screens are designed to allow content to be seen regardless of weather conditions, but they generate a lot of heat, and we know that comes with challenges,” says UNICOL’s designer, Andy Griffiths. “To address that, we’ve upgraded our ODH range and now offer two outdoor housing types: one for screens below 2500 NITS and one for screens above 2500 NITS.”
The ODH range features a weatherproof rated USB port for connecting to the screen for efficient changing of content or running maintenance, an LED Status Display to show lowest and highest running temperature, along with what the minimum and maximum temperature needs to be should the screen power down. They are constructed with high quality, corrosion free aluminium for long life in all weather conditions, have user-washable particle filters for increased longevity, and a 5mm, impact resistant polycarbonate screen as standard.
For screens below 2500 NITS, they are IP53 rated, include thermostatic internal heating and cooling, with one heating and one cooling thermostat, and dual protected axial vent fans. This means airflow circulates up to an internal temperature of 55oC, keeping screens running for longer.
For screens above 2500 NITS, the ODH comes with universal adjustable arms to allow for a variety of screen depths, are IP55 rated, feature computer controlled thermal management with five multi-point digital thermometers. High-power, variable speed fans operate at different levels depending on the temperature. This means they work on demand, rather than constantly at high speed, reducing power output and, as a result, environmental impact.
Both ODH versions offer a tailored fit to each screen make and model and are CE approved. Toughened or laminated glass options are also available if required.
Creating Solutions That Cater For All Scenarios
“This upgrade means our customers can be assured that the screens they’ve invested in are always appropriately catered for,” concludes Edd Simmons, Sales Director. “For us, it means we know we’ve created a solution that will keep their kit running smoothly, whatever the application and whatever the weather conditions.”
